About Marcela:
Born and raised behind the iron curtain in former Czechoslovakia, her first connection with the artistic world manifested through dance. After training all along her childhood she pursued her passion for dance as a dancer in her late teens and early twentieth dancing for renowned dance companies throughout the Czech Republic. After being on stage and in front of the camera for years she found her new passion behind the camera producing films, music videos and TV shows.
When she had children and relocated to the United States more than a decade ago, she found herself a fish out of water. Not knowing the language and the culture she picked up the camera and started interpreting her new world through the lens of it.
She is drawn to storytelling. She is most inspired by the emotion of her subject and finding extraordinary images in ordinary moments in life.
